Manchester United has announced ambitious plans to build a state-of-the-art 100,000-seater stadium as part of a major regeneration project in the Old Trafford area.

The proposed development is expected to contribute significantly to the UK economy, with an estimated £7.3 billion in annual economic benefits.

Additionally, the project could create approximately 92,000 new jobs, introduce over 17,000 new homes, and attract around 1.8 million additional visitors each year.

Conceptual designs and models for the stadium and surrounding district have been revealed by Foster + Partners, the architecture firm leading the project. These initial plans will serve as the foundation for further consultation, feasibility studies, and design development.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, emphasized the importance of modernizing the club’s facilities while maintaining the legacy of Old Trafford.

He stated that building a new stadium next to the existing site would preserve the club’s heritage while significantly enhancing the fan experience. He emphasized the long-term benefits for the region and confirmed that Manchester United would take the lead in delivering the stadium while the Mayoral Development Corporation oversees broader redevelopment efforts.
